Landscape Operative

Tennial Personnel are recruiting a Landscape Operative to join a well-established horticultural company based in Campsea Ashe, Suffolk. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, with the potential to secure a permanent position following 12 successful working weeks. The role would suit a practical, hardworking and reliable individual who enjoys working outdoors and is comfortable working in all weather conditions. The successful candidate will have experience in tree and hedge planting, soft landscaping and some hard landscaping, alongside strong all-round practical skills. Previous experience operating machinery such as tractors, small diggers or excavators would be highly advantageous. Candidates with backgrounds in farming, agriculture, grounds maintenance, landscaping or similar practical environments are encouraged to apply. Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM Potential overtime available Key Responsibilities: Carry out tree and hedge planting and maintenance Complete a range of soft landscaping duties Assist with hard landscaping projects when required Prepare and maintain gardens, grounds and outdoor areas Operate machinery including tractors, small diggers and excavators Carry out general groundworks and landscaping duties Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively Assist with site preparation, planting and general maintenance Maintain tools, equipment and machinery to a good standard Work as part of a team to complete landscaping projects to a high standard Follow all relevant health and safety procedures Work outdoors in a range of weather conditions Skills Required Strong all-round practical and manual skills Good attention to detail and pride in the quality of work Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable, hardworking and punctual Good communication skills Positive attitude and willingness to learn Comfortable carrying out manual duties Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Good understanding of health and safety Flexible approach to working hours, including potential overtime Qualifications Required Previous experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, agriculture, farming or a similar practical environment Experience of tree and hedge planting Previous soft / hard landscaping experience Experience operating machinery such as tractors, small diggers or excavators Relevant machinery or plant licences/tickets are advantageous Full UK driving licence is advantageous Previous experience working outdoors in all weather conditions Keywords Landscaping Tree Planting Agriculture
