Large CNC Turner Overview We are looking for an experienced CNC Turner to join a busy precision machining environment manufacturing small batch, high-precision components for highly regulated industries. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience setting and operating large CNC lathes and working with Mazak and/or Fanuc control systems. Hours: 39 hours per week Rate: £18-22/hour DOE (Setting vs Operating vs Programming etc) Core Shift: * Monday to Thursday: 6:45am to 3:30pm * Friday: 7:00am to 1:00pm * 30-minute unpaid lunch break Key Responsibilities * Program, set and operate CNC lathes, including reading, editing and optimising CNC programs. * Follow manufacturing procedures, set-up sheets and work instructions to ensure consistent production. * Interpret engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances with a strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). * Manufacture precision components to customer specifications and quality requirements. * Ensure all work is completed in accordance with quality standards, engineering documentation and customer requirements. * Maintain high standards of health, safety and housekeeping at all times. * Work effectively both independently and as part of a manufacturing team. * Carry out additional production duties as required to support the business. Skills and Experience Essential * Right to live and work in the UK. * Minimum of three years' experience machining large components within a high-precision manufacturing environment. * At least five years' experience operating CNC lathes with Mazak and/or Fanuc control systems. * Experience working from engineering drawings, job cards and manufacturing work instructions. * Broad knowledge of machining processes across a variety of engineering materials. * Experience handling, protecting and machining precision manufactured components. * Ability to program, set and operate a range of CNC machine tools. * Strong ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles. * High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safe working practices. Desirable * Knowledge of modern cutting tools and machining techniques. * Experience programming Mazak and/or Fanuc controls. * Experience using hydraulic and manual steadies for machining large components.
