Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer - Nuclear & HV Substations Location: Manchester (Hybrid: Tue-Thu in office) Sector: Nuclear Infrastructure Contract Duration: 12 Months+ / Permanent Options Available About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Nuclear sector detailed design and HV Substation projects to join a major engineering team in Manchester. This is a purely electrical leadership position responsible for delivering complete electrical scopes, managing project teams, and handling technical design for critical infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Lead electrical project delivery, including schedule/MDR creation, CTR estimates, change control, and delegating work packages. Direct hands-on electrical design: SLDs, power system calculations, earthing and lightning protection, load schedules, cable routing, schematics, and equipment specifications. Specify and procure major electrical assets: HV/LV switchboards, transformers, UPS systems, motors, and lighting. Conduct HV power system modelling, protection studies, and liaise directly with DNOs and project stakeholders. Oversee compliance with UK nuclear codes, ATEX/DSEAR guidelines, and CE marking directives.
