Legal Counsel

Altenar is seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team and support a growing international B2B sportsbook technology business. This UK-based remote role will take ownership of commercial legal matters, including SaaS and software licensing agreements, partnerships, supplier contracts, and strategic business initiatives. The successful candidate will provide practical, business-focused advice across multiple jurisdictions while helping Altenar improve its legal processes, documentation, and use of legal technology.

What You'll Do

• Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, software licensing agreements, partnerships, and supplier contracts.
• Act as a key legal contact for business stakeholders, providing clear, pragmatic, and commercially focused advice.
• Take ownership of legal support for designated areas of Altenar's business.
• Identify and implement improvements to legal processes, workflows, and ways of working.
• Develop and maintain contract templates, legal playbooks, and internal guidance.
• Collaborate with Altenar's multi-jurisdictional legal team.
• Manage external legal counsel where required.
• Support the management of disputes when necessary.
• Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments affecting the gaming and technology sectors.
• Support strategic business initiatives, including new product development.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Approximately 4-6 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) as a solicitor, advocate, or equivalent; Altenar considers this a guideline rather than a strict requirement.
• Strong foundation in commercial and contract law.
• Excellent legal drafting and contract negotiation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
