Main duties of the job
We invite applications for the post of a Locum General Paediatric Consultant. The post-holder will be part of the resident consultant on-call rota at the Royal Free Hospital site.
The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic and dynamic team of General Paediatricians and Neonatologists providing out-of-hours inpatient and outpatient care for local children and neonates. As part of the role, they will be required to do attending weeks on the general paediatric ward, actively manage the Paediatric Emergency Department and run outpatient clinics. We have a Level 1 Neonatal Unit and we all cover this out of hours, with a dedicated on-call neonatal team for support.
The 8.5 session post comprises 7.375 DCC and 1.125 SPA activities annualised, with options to increase SPA activity dependant on departmental job planning roles.

Education & professional Qualifications
Essential
- On the specialist register of the General Medical Council (GMC) for Paediatrics
- Registered with the GMC and within 6 months of being accepted for the specialist register for paediatrics at the time of interview
- Fellowship / Membership of relevant Royal College Of Paediatrics & Child Health / equivalent
- APLS/NLS provider
- Level 3 Child Protection training
