Location: Suffolk, UK Rate: £100-£120ph dependant on experience. PAYE only. Contract Type: Locum (short-term and long-term assignments available) Start Date: ASAP, ongoing Details: Full time (part time will also be considered) Chemical Pathologist post initially available for 3 months, with a view to extension. The role will include management of the Lipidology outpatient service. Likely comprise of x5 clinical sessions per week, including x3 outpatient clinics, x1 triage & advice and guidance session, and x1 session of patient admin. The remaining time will be spent overseeing the Biochemistry service, including providing medical leadership for the laboratory, and providing expert interpretation of biochemical results. Must be on Specialist Register. About the Role As a locum Consultant in Chemical Pathology, you'll provide expert diagnostic services and contribute to the delivery of high-quality pathology care. Responsibilities Provide specialist clinical advice on biochemical, metabolic, and endocrine disorders. Interpret complex laboratory results and support diagnostic decision-making. Oversee clinical biochemistry laboratory services, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance. Contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions and patient management plans. Support service development, clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement activities. Supervise and mentor junior medical and laboratory staff.
