Job summary

Applicants are invited for a full-time Locum Consultant Radiologist post based at the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. The post includes Programmed Activities in Paediatric and General Radiology.

The successful candidate will join a team of 20 Consultant Radiologists to help deliver Diagnostic Imaging Services to the Trust and local commissioners. The candidates are required to have a subspecialty interest in Paediatric imaging. Additional subspecialty interests in other areas can also be accommodated and it is recommended that interested candidates explore this in person.

o Fully participate in the provision of paediatric imagingo Maintenance of high quality patient centred careo Shared responsibility for the day to day management of the service and participation in strategic planningo Teaching and training within the multidisciplinary serviceo Active involvement in multidisciplinary team meetings and directorate clinical governance activityo Active participation in continuing medical education

Person specification

Qualifications / Training

Essential

  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register or, be within 6 months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) at time of interview or, provide GMC confirmed eligibility for entry on the Specialist Register
  • Hold a current licence to practice from the GMC
  • MBBS or equivalent
  • College Fellowship (FRCR) or qualification of an equivalent level
  • Postgraduate academic degree

Desirable

  • College Fellowship

Previous Experience

Essential

  • Broad range of experience in General Radiology in particular: oExperience of Paediatric imaging including Body, Neonatal cranial and Paediatric Head and Neck Ultrasound, Paediatric MRI, Fluoroscopy, Plain film reporting, NAI Imaging. MRI/ CT/US (general). oFully competent in General Radiology to partake in the on-call rota.
  • Ability to offer and be accountable for, full and independent expert diagnostic opinion
  • Demonstrates an interest and commitment to the specialty

Desirable

  • Interest and Experience in another subspeciality.
  • Previous Consultant level experience in NHS

Essential

  • Able to evidence engagement with clinical governance and the identification of errors and the learning from errors.
  • Evidence engagement with appraisal and revalidation
