Locum Consultant - Vascular
Job summary
To provide a full general and specialised vascular service, including elective and emergency surgery for the vascular network across Surrey, NE Hampshire and E Berkshire.
The post holder will be expected to provide a general, broad base of vascular and endo-vascular service. It is expected that the post holder will be an active member of the local and network MDTs and will be expected to work at any of the spoke hospitals when required, where they will receive honorary contracts.

Main duties of the job
This position has mentoring facilitated inclusive of out of hours cover provided by two senior clinicians making job plan changes to accommodate this on call.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential
- FRCS or equivalent registration
- Full GMC registration
- Possession of CCT (or equivalent) within six months of receipt at the date of interview
- Entry on Specialist register
Desirable
- Evidence of Research Activity or Higher Degree
Experience
Essential
- Understand the principles of Clinical Governance and demonstrate experience of evidence based practice
- oA wide grounding during training of all aspects of emergency and elective surgery within the speciality of Vascular Surgery
- oExperience of teaching clinical skills to undergraduates and postgraduates and operative skills to trainee specialists
