Machine Operator

Based in Stevenage, working in a chilled environment, this position is offered on temporary to permanent basis on either day shift (0700-1900) or night shift (1900-0700). The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of production machinery, ensuring consistent workflow and product quality. The role includes setting up equipment, monitoring performance, completing basic troubleshooting, and maintaining accurate production records. A key part of the role is strict compliance with company's operational procedures and policies, ensuring all restricted areas around machinery are respected, guarded, and free from unauthorised access. The operator must follow all safety procedures, report faults immediately, and maintain a clean and controlled working environment. Strong attention to detail, reliability, and safety awareness are essential in this role. Experience, Knowledge, Qualifications Experience in operating machinery in a food processing environment is desirable. Must have sound administrative skills Must have a flexible approach to work Good communication skills required Accuracy and ability to prioritise Motivated and energetic with strong attention to detail You will either need to live in Stevenage or have your own transport as the shifts require flexibility on finish times due to work volumes.
