Machine Setter / Tool Setter

Job Description: Knutsford, Cheshire Monday–Friday | 08:00–16:00 (Days Only) £32,000 – £38,000 (Depending on Experience) About the Opportunity Valenti Recruitment are working in partnership with a well-established manufacturing business in Knutsford to recruit an experienced Mechanical Tool Setter / Machine Changeover Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a stable, long-standing production environment where all engineering work is carried out during daytime hours, offering excellent work-life balance. The site operates 24/7 production, however this role is Monday–Friday days only. If you are mechanically minded, confident carrying out tool changes and enjoy working in a small, hands-on team — this could be the perfect next step. The Role This is a practical, workshop-based mechanical role responsible for: * Changing mould tools on high-speed thermoforming machines * Changing cutting tools on trim press machinery * Adjusting mechanical and computer settings to produce high-quality products * Inspecting and maintaining production machinery * Carrying out preventative maintenance tasks * Performing oil and filter changes * Taking ownership of product tooling * Supporting smooth and efficient machine changeovers You will work closely with production but must be capable of working independently and without close supervision. What We’re Looking For * Strong mechanical maintenance background * Experience working within manufacturing or processing environments * Confident using hand tools and workshop equipment * Ability to use measuring equipment and gauges accurately * Experience working on production machinery * Practical, hands-on mindset * Comfortable working as part of a small team This role would suit someone from a tool setting, machine setting, mechanical fitter, or production maintenance background.
