Main duties of the job

Join Emerald Place Clinic in Surrey as a Maintenance Assistant where you will be part of creating a well-presented and safe environment for some of the most vulnerable people in society. As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring the service's facilities are fit for purpose, conducting gardening and audits to identify and repair any faults. You will work alongside an established team, handle maintenance tasks, and liaise with contractors for service upkeep. Training will be provided, and Elysium Healthcare offers career development opportunities, enabling you to make a positive impact on lives. This full-time role involves 37.5 hours a week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. The job requires assisting with maintenance checks, repairs, decorating, reporting faults, and coordinating with contractors. To succeed, experience in maintenance is needed, along with teamwork ability, a full UK driving license, and attending training sessions.

This role is a full time position of 37.5 hours a week. Monday-Friday. 9am-5pm.   

As a Maintenance Assistant you will have:

  • Assisting with ensuring that the service, buildings, facilities and equipment requirements are maintained and fit for purpose.
  • Utilising good DIY skills to ensure safety of service users is maintained.
  • Assisting in regular checks and maintenance.
  • Assisting in the repair and maintenance of all buildings.
  • Assisting in all decorating.
  • Liaising with a manager reporting all faults and defects.
  • Participating in a 1 week retaining on-call rota for the purposes of emergency maintenance.
  • Coordinating and supporting contractors whilst on site and completing of all paperwork and tool checks.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • To comply with system and procedures.
  • Have previous experience within a maintenance role.
  • To work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Show courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure that they enjoy the highest quality of service.
  • Attend and participate in training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Have a full UK driving license 

Where you will be working:

Location: Emerald Place Clinic, Farmfield Drive, Charlwood, Horley, RH6 0BN

Emerald Place Clinic is a general adolescent inpatient unit for the care and treatment of young people aged 13 up to the age of 18. Young people who are admitted to the unit will have a primary diagnosis of mental illness across a wide range of disorders and complex needs.

These could include mental health conditions such as mood disorders and acute psychosis.  Additionally young people may have co-existing additional needs such as neurodevelopmental disorders, including mild learning disabilities or autism. A young person could also be admitted if they have disordered eating.
