We're recruiting for one of the UK's leading party food production sites, manufacturing products including bhajis, samosas, onion rings and spring rolls for major UK supermarkets. The site operates at scale and pace, with a strong engineering team supporting a busy production operation. This is a hands-on maintenance role covering both mechanical and electrical systems, with a clear focus on fixing faults properly, improving reliability and keeping production moving. The Shift 4 On / 4 Off | Rotating Days & Nights A structured shift pattern giving you substantial time away from work between rotations. What You'll Be Doing You'll be responsible for maintaining production equipment and responding to faults across the site. Your responsibilities will include: Mechanical and electrical breakdown response Structured fault finding and diagnostics Planned preventative maintenance Carrying out repairs safely and efficiently Recording maintenance activity and corrective actions on the CMMS Supporting reliability and continuous improvement projects Identifying and addressing repeat failures Working closely with production to minimise downtime Supporting site teams to maintain safe and efficient operation The focus isn't simply on getting a machine running again. You'll be encouraged to understand why it failed and what can be done to stop it happening again. What We're Looking For You'll ideally have: Experience in a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer or similar role Recognised engineering qualification in mechanical and/or electrical engineering Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills Experience with planned and reactive maintenance Ability to diagnose faults and work independently Good problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work effectively as part of an engineering team Willingness to work a 4 on / 4 off days and nights rotation Experience within food manufacturing or FMCG would be useful but isn't essential. Due to the location and shift times, your own transport would be advantageous. What's On Offer? 4 on / 4 off shift pattern Rotating days and nights Competitive salary Benefits package including retail discounts Wellbeing support Employee assistance programme Volunteering opportunities Ongoing training and development Long-term career opportunities within a growing UK food manufacturing group Why Join? You'll be joining a business that is continuing to invest in its manufacturing sites, engineering standards and people. As the wider group grows, there is genuine opportunity for engineers who want to develop their skills, take on more responsibility and progress their careers. You'll also be part of an established engineering team where technical competence, teamwork and solving problems properly are valued.
