Birmingham, Midlands, UK Permanent Afternoons - 2pm - 10pm, Early finish on Friday About the Role A leading automotive component manufacturer is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our fast-paced manufacturing team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for keeping our high-volume production lines running safely and efficiently. You will perform essential mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, conduct precision repairs, and directly oversee the routine servicing and maintenance of our automated robotic manufacturing systems. Key Responsibilities Troubleshooting & Diagnostics:
Diagnosed and troubleshot complex mechanical and electrical issues to minimize production downtime.
Machinery Maintenance & Repairs:
Performed precision repairs and component replacements on critical machinery and systems.
Robotics Servicing:
Perform preventive maintenance, servicing, and calibration on automated robotic cell systems (welding, assembly, and transfer robots).
Safety & Compliance:
Enforced strict safety compliance, adhering to industry standards and hazard protocols during all maintenance tasks.
Data & Documentation:
Maintained detailed documentation of maintenance logs, repair histories, and system performance metrics.
Continuous Improvement:
Collaborated with production teams to identify mechanical vulnerabilities and optimize equipment efficiency.
Key Skills & Qualifications Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics.
Proven experience servicing and maintaining industrial robots (e.g., ABB, Fanuc, KUKA, Motoman) in a manufacturing setting.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical systems.
Strong knowledge of industrial safety protocols (LOTO, RAMS, hazard identification).
Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
