Maintenance Engineer

Maintenance Engineer Location: Whitstable, Kent The Role We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a busy maintenance team, supporting the smooth operation of manufacturing equipment and site facilities. This is a varied hands-on role involving planned preventative maintenance, reactive breakdown repairs, continuous improvement activities and project work. You will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability, minimising downtime and supporting operational efficiency across the site. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on machinery, plant and site facilities. Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, repairing equipment and replacing components where required. Respond promptly to breakdowns and minimise production downtime. Use the CMMS system to manage maintenance tasks, prioritise workloads and maintain accurate maintenance records. Support condition-based monitoring activities and identify improvement opportunities. Install, maintain and test electrical and mechanical equipment, including control panels and fixed installations. Work on hydraulic, pneumatic and PLC-controlled equipment. Interpret electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics and engineering drawings. Support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment performance and reliability.
