MTrec Technical are proudly representing a leading engineering and manufacturing business based in Dalkeith, as they seek to appoint an experienced
Maintenance Technician
to their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, providing hands-on engineering support across all departments. You'll play a vital role in maximising equipment performance, supporting continuous improvement projects, and contributing to the overall reliability and efficiency of site operations. The Job You Will Do: Provide emergency breakdown support to production machinery and equipment Conduct regular planned maintenance as per the maintenance schedule Support the UK Engineering Manager with engineering projects, including design, specification, purchasing, and installation Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs across a wide range of production and support equipment Monitor equipment performance, identifying and resolving recurring issues Maintain accurate records for all maintenance activities Assist with external contractors and service engineers, ensuring adherence to safety standards Ensure all work aligns with company Health & Safety, ISO 14001, and industry compliance standards Take part in initiatives to improve downtime, efficiency, health and safety, and hygiene Maintain a clean, organised and hazard-free work environment About You: Qualifications in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical preferred) Recognised time-served apprenticeship Proven maintenance experience in a factory/manufacturing environment (essential) Post-apprenticeship experience in a similar role (desirable) Knowledge ofMotors, drives, PLCs, gearboxes, transmissions Strong team player with a proactive attitude Excellent initiative and problem-solving skills
