• Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 8.00am - 5.00pm, Friday 8.00am - 2.15pm
• Annual Salary: £45,000 - £47,000

As a Management Accountant reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a crucial role in overseeing all areas of Cost Accounting within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for a results-focused and energetic professional who thrives under pressure and is committed to excellence.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

• Maintain and set annual standard costs for machines - materials, labour, and overhead.
• Manage machine margins and inventories, including cycle counting, physical inventory counts, and reviewing variances.
• Monitor and report on raw materials prices and factory overheads.
• Participate in the annual budget process and monthly/quarterly forecasts.
• Identify and execute cost reduction opportunities.
• Prepare month-end financial information to achieve a 4-day close.
• Submit monthly and quarterly management accounts and corporate narratives in accordance with the corporate reporting calendar.
• Assist in quarterly forecasts and annual budgets, supporting department managers with budget costs.
• Engage in internal SOX self-testing, assist in audits, and review internal procedures.
• Provide KPI information to department and corporate management.
• Support the Financial Controller in all aspects of financial management, including attending meetings requiring financial input and deputising as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• A third-level qualification in Accounts (CIMA/ACCA/ACA preferred).
• Proven experience in Cost Accountancy within a Manufacturing Environment.
• Strong knowledge of account systems, proficiency in Excel and MS Word.
• Functional knowledge of general accounting processes and UK/US GAAP.
