Manual Turner
to join our client, a reputable aerospace manufacturing organisation based in
West London . This is an excellent permanent opportunity for a skilled
Manual Machinist, Manual Turner or Toolmaker
looking to work within a high-precision engineering environment. You will be responsible for setting and operating manual lathes to manufacture precision aerospace components, working accurately to engineering drawings and exacting quality standards. Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate
manual lathes and associated machine tools
to manufacture precision components. Produce components accurately to engineering drawings, specifications and required tolerances. Select appropriate tooling and make machine adjustments to achieve the required dimensions and finish. Read and interpret
technical drawings, engineering specifications and manufacturing instructions . Carry out dimensional and visual checks to ensure components meet stringent quality requirements. Identify and resolve machining issues while maintaining productivity and quality. Maintain a high standard of workmanship throughout the manufacturing process. Work efficiently to meet production schedules and deadlines. Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment. Work effectively both independently and as part of the wider manufacturing team. Skills & Experience
The successful Manual Turner will ideally have: Previous experience in
manual machining , particularly operating manual lathes. Experience working as a
Manual Turner, Manual Machinist or Toolmaker . Strong knowledge of setting and operating manual machine tools. The ability to confidently read and interpret
engineering drawings and technical specifications . Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to producing high-quality components. Good practical problem-solving skills. The ability to work independently and within a team-based manufacturing environment. Experience within
aerospace, precision engineering or another high-tolerance manufacturing environment
would be advantageous. Willingness to work the required rotating shifts of
