As Manufacturing Engineer - Sheet Metal, you will define and validate the sheet metal manufacturing process from engineering definition within HSE, quality and budget requirements. Designing and defining manufacturing processes for sheet metal at targeted cost and within specification - Creating and validating standard work instructions, quality control points, and inspection methods - Recommending and specifying plant, equipment, and tooling - Preparing routes, BOMs, layouts, tooling requests, and data sheets - Ensuring performance targets (quality, cost, delivery) are achieved - Coordinating cross-functional activities (Engineering, Logistics, General Services) - Leading activities for validating new industrial products and processes - Representing manufacturing engineering in front of customers, supporting the Industrial Programme Manager - Overseeing risk assessment and escalation related to product and people safety - Proven experience in sheet metal manufacturing engineering within the aerospace sector - Expert knowledge of titanium, aluminium, and steel aerospace materials and associated mechanical properties - Understanding of material heat treatment and transformations - Background in advanced manufacturing engineering environments - Understanding of business economics - Engineering degree (mechanical, manufacturing, materials) or HND/equivalent experience - General aircraft knowledge, ideally including civil aircraft nacelle structures - Previous exposure to customer-facing engineering roles Be part of a worldwide aerospace, defence, and space company, with over 100,000 colleagues across 300 sites in 30 countries. your ambitions can take us further as we work to decarbonise aerospace and make the world safer.
