Manufacturing Line Lead – Permanent Opportunity

Are you an experienced production professional with leadership skills? We're recruiting on behalf of our client for a Manufacturing Line Lead to join their busy food manufacturing operation in Alness.

This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent role from day one, working within a well-established business that offers a supportive team environment and opportunities for development.

The Role

As a Manufacturing Line Lead, you'll support the Manufacturing Manager in the day-to-day running of production, ensuring products are manufactured safely, efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

You’ll be responsible for leading production teams, maintaining Health & Safety and quality standards, and ensuring production targets are achieved while maximising efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and deputise for the Manufacturing Manager when required.
  • Lead and supervise Production Operatives and Agency staff.
  • Ensure production plans are completed safely, efficiently and on time.
  • Allocate work to trained team members across production lines.
  • Carry out daily Health & Safety and quality checks.
  • Deliver start-of-shift briefings and support staff training.
  • Complete pre-start production line inspections.
  • Ensure machinery is operated safely and report any faults promptly.
  • Monitor product quality, yields and production performance.
  • Ensure accurate product labelling, batch control and allergen compliance.
  • Support raw material control and production system updates.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and food safety standards.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience within a food manufacturing or production environment.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and people management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible, reliable and proactive approach to work.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
