Manufacturing Quality Inspector An established engineering and manufacturing business is looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Quality Inspector to join its production team. This is a practical role working directly with engineering components, fabricated parts and materials. It is not purely a desk-based or inspection-cell position. You will inspect incoming and part-built components, use hand and power tools where required and carry out basic preparation or minor rectification before parts move through production. The role would suit someone from a quality inspection, mechanical assembly, engineering assembly or hands-on manufacturing background who is used to working in a cell-based build environment and is comfortable physically handling components. The Role * Inspect incoming engineering components, fabricated parts and materials before they enter production. * Check parts for damage, finish, dimensions, quantity and general conformity. * Read engineering drawings, specifications and work instructions to understand what is required. * Use measuring equipment to check dimensions and tolerances. * Inspect part-built and pre-assembled components as they move through the manufacturing process. * Use hand and power tools for basic dressing, preparation, hole clearance and minor rectification where required. * Identify defective or non-conforming components and work with Production, Engineering, Warehouse and Procurement colleagues to resolve issues. * Maintain accurate inspection and quality records where required. About You We are looking for someone practical, reliable and comfortable working directly within a manufacturing environment. You will ideally have: * Previous experience within engineering, manufacturing, assembly or production. * Experience working within a manufacturing cell, build area or hands-on assembly environment. * Confidence using hand tools and power tools as part of your normal working day. * Experience physically handling engineering parts and components. * Good attention to detail and the confidence to identify when something is not right. * Previous experience reading engineering drawings and using measuring equipment would be advantageous. Previous quality inspection experience would be useful, but we would also consider someone from a strong hands-on engineering or manufacturing background who has regularly checked the quality of their own work or components. Experience with sheet metal, fabrication, welding or mechanical assembly would be particularly relevant. What's on Offer * Permanent position within an established engineering and manufacturing business. * Monday to Friday day shift. * Overtime available. * Ongoing training and development. * Varied role combining quality inspection with practical engineering work. Why Apply? This Manufacturing Quality Inspector role offers more variety than a traditional inspection-only position. You will be directly involved with components moving through the manufacturing process, checking parts, identifying problems and carrying out practical preparation or minor rectification where required. We would particularly like to hear from candidates currently working as a Quality Inspector, Quality Technician, Mechanical Assembler, Engineering Assembler, Production Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Production Inspector or Goods In Inspector who enjoy a hands-on engineering environment. If you are comfortable using power tools, working with engineering components and being physically involved in the manufacturing process, we would like to hear from you
