Location: Cambridge, CB4 Type: Permanent - On site 5 days per week Hours: 8am - 4pm Salary: up to £34,000 depending on experience Job Reference: 36279 We're looking for a skilled Manufacturing Technician to join a high-tech engineering environment supporting the defence and space sectors. Working within a cleanroom and Lean manufacturing setting, you will be responsible for precision assembly, inspection and testing of micro-components, contributing to both production and new product development activities. Responsibilities - Assemble precision sub-assemblies and finished products to engineering specifications - Test products and components to ensure function and quality standards are met - Troubleshoot faults in equipment, devices or products - Set up, operate and adjust production equipment in line with standard operating procedures - Support engineers with prototype builds and new product/process development - Inspect finished goods to company and customer specifications - Use measuring tools such as callipers, micrometres and gauges to ensure accuracy - Maintain accurate production records, logs and data entry (Excel/MES systems) - Create and update manufacturing documentation including work instructions and batch records - Manage materials, waste and inventory in line with company procedures - Communicate effectively with engineering, operations and cross-functional teams Requirements - Previous experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment (precision assembly desirable) - Strong practical and hands-on skills and a high level of attention to detail - Ability to follow and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions - Experience using measurement and inspection equipment - Comfortable working in a cleanroom or controlled environment (desirable) - Good understanding of process control and quality standards - Confident using Microsoft Excel or manufacturing data systems - Able to work independently and as part of a team - Positive attitude with a proactive approach to continuous improvement Please contact us as soon as possible for more details or apply below
