Marine / Mechanical Fitter

Artisan Recruitment are looking for Marine / Mechanical Fitter for a well established marine engineering business is looking for an experienced Marine / Mechanical Fitter to become the owner’s right-hand person, with a genuine opportunity to progress into a Director-level position and receive shares in the business after a qualifying period (to be discussed at interview). This is a hands-on senior role for someone who wants more than just a job. We’re looking for a highly capable engineer who can take ownership of projects, build strong client relationships, and play a key role in the future growth of the company. Key responsibilities * Carry out marine and mechanical fitting work to a high standard * Work on propulsion systems * Diagnose, repair and maintain marine engines (boats and ships) * Work with pumps and valve systems * Run and manage projects from start to finish * Liaise with clients and provide excellent customer service * Work independently and as part of a small, experienced team Essential requirements * NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or equivalent * Minimum 5 years’ experience in a marine or mechanical engineering environment * Strong knowledge of: * Propulsion systems * Marine engines (boats and ships) * Pumps and valves * Ability to manage projects and work in a hands-on capacity * Excellent communication and client-facing skills Desirable (but not essential) * Welding experience * Ability to operate a milling machine What’s on offer? * £22.00 per hour for the first 37.5 hours per week * £28.00 per hour for all hours worked above 37.5 * Average earnings of around £61,100 per year * Company vehicle * Company mobile phone * 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays * PAYE employment * A clear pathway to Director level and potential shareholding in the business If you’re an experienced Marine or Mechanical Fitter looking for a long-term career opportunity with genuine progression into company leadership, we’d love to hear from you.
