We're looking for a talented Mechanical Area Engineer to join our Engineering team. This is a hands-on engineering role combining technical expertise, reliability improvement, maintenance planning, contractor management and continuous improvement activities. You will be responsible for: * Promoting and maintaining high standards of Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality compliance across all maintenance activities. * Supporting the planning, coordination and execution of mechanical maintenance, shutdowns and contractor activities to maximise asset reliability and performance. * Developing and maintaining maintenance documentation, including SOPs, RAMS, work orders and asset data within Maximo CMMS. * Monitoring maintenance KPIs, equipment performance and asset condition, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and optimisation. * Leading troubleshooting, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and corrective actions to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency. * Supporting the development of preventative, predictive and reliability-centred maintenance strategies for critical assets. * Driving continuous improvement projects, implementing innovative solutions that enhance safety, quality, environmental performance and customer satisfaction. What We're Looking For * Time-served Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship * NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering (essential) * HNC/HND or Degree in a related engineering discipline (desirable) * Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience within a mechanical maintenance environment * Experience of modern maintenance techniques and reliability improvement * Experience conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA) * Experience working within a heavy industrial, manufacturing, paper, power or process environment is advantageous * Strong Mechanical Engineering knowledge * Leadership and people management capability * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills * Experience with Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), ideally Maximo * Analytical problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset * IOSH or NEBOSH qualification desirable * Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems desirable * SAP experience desirable * Paper and Power industry experience advantageous Why Join Saica At Saica, you're joining more than a company.
