This Mechanical Assembler position is ideal for someone with previous assembly or fitting experience looking for a long-term move. Key Responsibilities for the Mechanical Assembler: Assist with the assembly and testing of machinery and equipment Work from engineering drawings, machine build books and SOPs Carry out drilling, tapping, reaming and preparation of components Fit non-electrical machine services, guarding, hydraulic hoses and auxiliary equipment Maintain quality standards and follow all Health & Safety procedures Complete documentation, production records and stock control What's in it for you as a Mechanical Assembler: Salary of £29,750 Generous overtime opportunities paid at time and a half Early finish every Friday Staggered day shift (start between 06:00 - 07:30, fixed once agreed) 8-hour days Monday to Thursday, 5.5 hours Friday Clean, well-organised workshop with modern equipment Stable, long-term opportunity with development potential What We're Looking For in a Mechanical Assembler: Previous experience in assembly, fitting or a similar engineering environment Experience working from engineering drawings Strong practical hand skills and mechanical aptitude A machine build background would be a distinct advantage Good attention to detail and commitment to quality Flexible, reliable and willing to learn new skills The site is based in Wortley and is easily accessible from Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield, Wakefield, and surrounding areas.
