Mechanical Design Engineer Manchester | Power Generation, Energy Infrastructure & BESS Mechanical Design Engineer - Manchester - Permanent - Power Generation, Energy Infrastructure & Battery Energy Storage This is a hands-on engineering position focused on the design and development of complex energy projects from concept through to commissioning and operation. You'll be involved in the mechanical and process design of CHP, trigeneration and battery energy storage projects, working closely with project delivery, electrical engineering and installation teams. Typical responsibilities will include: Developing mechanical and process designs for energy infrastructure projects Producing engineering documentation including PFDs, P&IDs and technical specifications Pipework and pump sizing calculations Ventilation and mechanical systems design Supporting system layouts and equipment selection Liaising with suppliers, project managers and clients Carrying out site surveys and providing technical support during installation and commissioning Supporting safe and compliant project delivery in line with CDM and engineering best practice What We're Looking For We're interested in speaking with engineers who have experience in areas such as: Power generation CHP District heating Energy centres Process plant Industrial mechanical systems Utilities Renewable energy Water treatment Oil & Gas HVAC and industrial ventilation systems You should ideally have: HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar At least 5 years' experience delivering engineering projects Mechanical design experience involving pipework, pumps and process systems Experience producing or reviewing engineering documentation including PFDs and P&IDs AutoCAD 3D or similar CAD experience Good understanding of health & safety and CDM requirements Full UK Driving Licence Why Consider It?
