Mechanical Designer

We work right through from concept to completion, and you would work as an integral part of a multi-service design and installation team and be proactive in ensuring effective communication and production of high-quality information. Much of your work will be in the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and Food and Drink Sectors, providing detailed designs on projects ranging from sensitive research facilities to complex and demanding sterile manufacturing environments. Although reporting to the Design Lead you will have responsibility for the following mechanical / HVAC design processes from concept through to detailed design and construction / commissioning. Support for Programming and Planning. In line with our core business, you will apply your knowledge and competence in the detailed design of building services systems to complex validated facilities, which meet CGMP and ISO 14644 requirements such as: Research and QA / QC laboratories Sensitive research facilities You will be a key member of a multi-service design and installation team, ensuring clear communication and high-quality outputs while supporting junior engineers. The role requires proficiency in producing detailed procurement-ready designs, including sizing, selection, space planning and routing, supported by CAD draughtsmen. Competence of all major building services systems would be required including: Comfort air conditioning Process specific heating / cooling / dehumidification and humidification Chilled water Building Management Systems Domestic & process H&CWS The role is mainly office-based with site visits for surveys. Most projects are in pharmaceutical, healthcare, and food sectors, delivering detailed designs for research facilities and complex sterile manufacturing environments.
