We're looking for talented Mechanical Designers with strong SOLIDWORKS or Autodesk Inventor experience to join a growing nuclear engineering team based in Winchester. This is an exciting opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within the UK nuclear sector while benefiting from a flexible hybrid working arrangement. The Role As a Mechanical Designer, you'll play a key role in delivering mechanical design solutions for nuclear and highly regulated engineering projects. You'll be responsible for producing high-quality 3D models and manufacturing drawings, supporting projects from concept through to manufacture, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements. Key Responsibilities * Produce detailed 3D CAD models using SOLIDWORKS or Autodesk Inventor * Create accurate manufacturing drawings in accordance with BS 8888 * Apply GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) principles to engineering drawings * Develop designs from concept through to manufacture for nuclear engineering applications * Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams * Support design reviews and implement engineering changes where required * Ensure designs comply with quality, safety and regulatory requirements within a highly regulated environment * Contribute to the successful delivery of projects across the UK nuclear industry What We're Looking For * Proven experience as a Mechanical Designer * Strong proficiency in SOLIDWORKS and/or Autodesk Inventor * Excellent knowledge of BS 8888 * Experience applying GD&T to engineering drawings * Ability to produce high-quality manufacturing documentation * Experience working within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated industry is highly desirable * Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills * Excellent communication and team-working abilities Desirable Experience * Nuclear, defence, aerospace or other highly regulated industries * Bespoke machinery or specialist equipment design * Sheet metal, fabricated assemblies or machined components * Design for Manufacture (DFM) * Product development and engineering change management What's On Offer? * Hybrid working available * Competitive salary/rate depending on experience * Opportunity to work on innovative projects within the UK nuclear industry * Supportive and collaborative engineering environment * Career development and progression opportunities * Long-term projects within a safety-critical sector * Modern office based in Winchester with flexible working arrangements Interested?
