You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of equipment, ensuring the smooth running of production processes, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the facility.

If you're a skilled engineer looking for a challenging and rewarding role, this is your opportunity.This is what you'll be doing.Lead and coordinate the engineering team on shift, ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standardTake ownership of mechanical breakdowns and drive rapid fault diagnosis to maximise equipment availability and minimise production downtimeCarry out planned, preventative and reactive maintenance on a wide range of FMCG production and packaging equipmentSupport the development of engineers on shift, providing technical guidance and ensuring best practice is followedConduct mechanical repairs and overhauls including gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, bearings, drives and power transmission equipmentUtilise machining and fabrication skills to manufacture, modify and repair components where requiredDiagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, applying formal fluid power knowledge to maintain equipment reliabilitySupport electrical fault finding and maintenance activities, which make up approximately 20% of the roleLead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency and reducing recurring faultsAssist with equipment installations, site projects and machinery upgrades from planning through to commissioningEnsure maintenance records are completed accurately and all work is carried out in accordance with health, safety and environmental standardsThe experience you'll bring to the team.Time-served Mechanical Engineer with strong hands-on maintenance experience within an FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing environmentProven experience leading or supervising engineering teams on shiftFormally trained in fluid power, with strong hydraulic and pneumatic fault-finding capabilitiesSkilled in gearbox assembly, repair and overhaul, along with wider rotating equipment maintenanceExperience in fabrication, welding and machining, with the ability to manufacture and modify components when requiredGood electrical fault-finding skills and a willingness to support electrical maintenance activities as part of a multi-skilled teamStrong understanding of preventative maintenance techniques and continuous improvement principlesA proactive leadership style with the ability to prioritise workloads and make sound engineering decisions under pressureExcellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production, operations and engineering teamsAnd this is what you'll get in return.A salary of circa £58,500Opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment.Are you up to the challenge?Are you what we're looking for?
