based in Gloucester is seeking a
Mechanical Fitter I
to join its production team. This is a hands-on mechanical assembly role, ideal for someone with practical mechanical skills who is looking to develop further within an engineering environment. You will carry out mechanical, basic pneumatic and structural assembly work under supervision, with the opportunity to develop towards
Mechanical Fitter II
level. The role
Working within the Product Line team and reporting to the Product Line Supervisor, you will help build high-quality assemblies and machines in line with engineering specifications and production schedules. Key responsibilities
Carry out mechanical assembly work under supervision
Complete basic pneumatic and structural assembly tasks
Build high-quality assemblies and machines to engineering specifications
Work towards production schedules and customer delivery deadlines
Complete required documentation relating to machine builds
Maintain tools and work areas to a high standard
Support daily
5S activities
Work collaboratively with colleagues across production and other departments
Develop skills through the Mechanical Skills Matrix
Assist with the induction and training of new starters
Identify opportunities to improve build and testing processes
Support improvements to procedures, drawings and training documentation
Participate in continuous improvement and Kaizen activities
Follow all Health & Safety procedures and company policies
Ensure tools and equipment are maintained safely and remain fit for purpose
What we are looking for
Practical mechanical or engineering skills
Some experience of mechanical assembly or fitting would be beneficial
Ability to work from engineering instructions and specifications
Good attention to detail and commitment to quality
Positive and reliable attitude
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Willingness to learn and develop new mechanical skills
Good awareness of Health & Safety
Ability to work to production deadlines
