A Mechanical Fitter job opportunity is available with my client who is a leading manufacturing of rotating equipment and pumps. Working under minimum supervision but reporting to the Operations Manager the mechanical assembly fitter will be part of a small team responsible for the assembly and output of completed pumps to meet customer delivery dates. The Mechanical Fitter will also support the Operations Manager in all ongoing initiatives to increase output, continuous improvements and promote a clean, safe, and hygienic environment. Mechanical Fitter role: Assemble various mechanical and electrical components working from engineering drawings and BOMs to produce completed pump assemblies in line with production schedule/build requirements. Carry out stripping/preparation/termination of various diameters of electrical cable and continuity testing Mechanically minded, with a keen eye for detail with the ability to think on their feet to resolve issues as they arise. Carry out general fitting/assembly operations using a variety of handheld, power/air tools with the ability to read engineering drawings and follow work instructions, check lists, visual aids. Recording and accurate completion of dimensional and quality/test check paperwork, time sheets etc. Use overhead cranes and forklift trucks to move large and heavy items around workshop. Loading and unloading of vehicles as required Ensure all activities/tasks are carried out in line with all company HSEW policies and procedures. Complete other tasks as may be reasonably requested by the company Mechanical Fitter requirement: Proven experience working in a similar mechanical fitter / assembly environment Experience of working in a medium to heavy mechanical engineering operation Experience in working to production deadlines and assigned operation hours Good standard of education Experience in reading of engineering drawings, manufacturing, and quality check lists Experience in completion of manufacturing and check list paperwork Qualified Overhead Crane User (training will be given if required) Qualified Forklift user (training will be given if required) Awareness of Health & Safety responsibilities and compliance Mechanical Fitter package: Salary up to £42k Bonus Scheme Buy Holiday Scheme Cycle to Work Scheme EAP / Employee Assistance Programme Enhanced Maternity Pay Friday Half-Days Life Assurance – 4x annual salary Paternity Pay – 2 weeks full pay Pension - Employee 5%, Employer 3% Refer a Friend Salary Sacrifice Schemes Sick Pay Training and Development
