Mechanical Fitter - Plant Maintenance

Responsibilities and duties of the Mechanical Technician role Reporting to the Mechanical Team Leader you will: Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance activities to ensure plant reliability and availability. Plan, prepare and supervise maintenance work, including the development of risk assessments and method statements. Manage contractors and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards. Support major outages, inspections and overhaul activities, including contractor coordination and quality assurance. Participate in the implementation of site safety rules as a Competent Person or Authorised Person, in line with training and competency requirements. Diagnose mechanical faults and implement effective solutions to minimise downtime and improve plant performance. Monitor maintenance costs and contribute to budget management and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, contractors and internal stakeholders to support operational objectives. Proven experience carrying out mechanical maintenance, fault finding and contractor management activities. Strong organisational, communication and computer skills, with experience supporting maintenance planning, budgeting and contract management activities.
