Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

What you’ll get: * Salary c£40k (DOE) + overtime * 33 Days holiday inc BH’s * Company pension * Healthcare cash plan * Life insurance * The opportunity to work in for a business with a great heritage and lots of longevity amongst the workforce About You * You’re a time‑served/apprentice‑trained Mechanical Engineer * You’ve got a strong maintenance background in a manufacturing environment * Comfortable with mechanical systems, servicing and breakdown response * Welding and fabrication experience is desirable * Can confidently read engineering drawings * Flexible to overtime, shutdown work and occasional call‑outs * A collaborative, team focused mindset * You’ll support training, development and CI across the site * Full driving licence and access to a car for occasional travel between locations About the Role * All planned and preventative maintenance across the site * Routine servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance across machinery and mechanical systems * Responding to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and putting long‑term fixes in place * Carrying out essential statutory and legislative testing * Supporting the General Manager and Group Engineering Manager with projects, improvements and site developments * Using the preventative maintenance system to reduce downtime and unplanned issues * Understanding of ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 * Supporting training, development and continuous improvement (CIP) across the site If you’re a proactive Mechanical Engineer who enjoys variety, problem‑solving and being part of a friendly, stable team, this is a brilliant opportunity with a business that really values its people
