Mechanical Plant Equipment Design Engineer Location Horsham Permanent £40,000–£46,000 10 % Bonus & Benefits Onsite 5 Days 40 Hours We are looking for a Mechanical Plant Equipment Design Engineer to join an established engineering team in Horsham. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical/Plant Design Engineer or Draughtsman with 2–5 years’ experience working with plant, mechanical or process plant layouts. Key Responsibilities for the appointed Mechanical Plant Equipment Design Engineer: Produce detailed mechanical and plant equipment designs using AutoCAD and Inventor Develop plant layouts, engineering drawings Fand associated design documentation Interpret and work from P&IDs, piping isometrics, technical drawings and equipment datasheets Carry out engineering design and draughting activities from concept through to completion Provide technical support to team members under the guidance of senior engineers Support site surveys and gather technical information from client facilities Work closely with engineering teams, clients and wider business functions Ensure designs consider manufacturing processes, construction methods, safety and environmental impact Work to project schedules, company procedures and engineering standards Support client projects and undertake global site travel when requiredKey Requirements for the selected Mechanical Plant Equipment Design Engineer: 2–5 years’ experience working in plant, mechanical or process plant layouts HNC/HND in Mechanical, Design or Process Engineering minimum Ideally working towards a BEng/BSc in Mechanical or Process Engineering Strong knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor or similar CAD software Strong understanding of engineering concepts and principles Experience with both mechanical design and draughting Good understanding of manufacturing processes and construction methods Ability to interpret P&IDs, piping isometrics, technical drawings and equipment datasheets Knowledge of relevant industry codes and safety standards, such as PED, ASME or ATEX Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook and TeamsAlso known as: Plant Design Engineer Mechanical Design Engineer Plant Equipment Design Engineer Mechanical Plant Designer Plant Layout Engineer Process Plant Design Engineer Mechanical Design Draughtsman Plant Design Draughtsman Mechanical Draughtsman
