An established manufacturing operator is looking for a Mechanical Technician Lead to oversee mechanical maintenance and drive safe, efficient operation across the site, with clear routes to grow within the business.
Key Responsibilities Lead inspection, troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair of mechanical equipment Manage routine maintenance, testing and installation of new equipment Oversee planned maintenance activity via the site's maintenance management systems Maintain strict control of the Permit to Work system for the internal team and contractors Engage and control contractors across civil, mechanical, instrument and electrical work Maintain full records and documentation for all mechanical equipment Supervise a maintenance team, including day and/or shift-based working patterns Ensure safe working practices are upheld across all maintenance activity Requirements Level 4 Apprenticeship (or equivalent trade experience) in Mechanical Engineering Previous experience leading or supervising a maintenance team, either on days or a shift pattern xwzovoh ATEX qualification and confidence working in explosive atmosphere environments, ideal Experience in a manufacturing, engineering or scientific environment, preferred A systematic, logical approach to problem-solving Strong communication skills and a good command of English Competence with MS Office and standard maintenance management systems, beneficial Existing right to work in the UK (this role cannot offer visa sponsorship)
