Medical Receptionist
Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to enhance our busy, friendly, forward-thinking team for 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basis.
Essential skills include good communication and an excellent telephone manner, a willingness to learn with the ability to use your own initiative.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of this role are varied and include general reception duties, taking patient enquiries both at front desk face to face and on the telephone, general day to day administration, e.g. Econsults, emails, reports, scanning, recalls, prescriptions etc.
About us
Kepier Medical Practice is a friendly, pro-active, and responsive practice with an overall CQC rating of Good. The practice is in close proximity to A1 and A19; with staff members commuting from Sunderland, Newcastle, and Durham areas.
The practice is committed to the future of the GP workforce being a training practice, hosting GP registrar(s) and 3rd year medical students.
We currently have 3 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, and 2 Nurse Practitioners who are supported by an extended clinical team consisting of 2 Practice Nurses, a Student Nurse Associate and a HealthCare Support Worker. We also have a 15 strong administrative team and in-house practice pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, a mental health practitioner and social prescribers.
Job responsibilities
We are looking to appoint a receptionist to join our busy GP practice who will be the first point of contact for patients, contractors, and visitors as well as carrying out general office management tasks.
You will be responsible for the general reception duties within the Practice and work with our established processes, policies, and procedures to provide a comprehensive high quality service and deal efficiently and courteously with patient enquiries.
You will receive, assist, and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient, and effective way.
You will provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
You will have excellent communication skills, a compassionate and friendly nature, and be able to operate in a busy environment with a range of people and professions, as you will be working with our clinical and administration teams.
This role is ideal for someone who is highly organised and an effective communicator who can provide a professional and warm welcome to our patients, ensuring every contact is of the highest quality.
