Following a recent internal promotion, we now have a permanent opportunity for a Medication Management Administrator at Priory Medical Group.

Full Time position available. 36 - 40 hours per week. We do ask for applicants who can be flexible with regards to working days / hours.

Full training will be provided

Main duties of the job

Key reasonability's:

Process prescription requests in accordance with practice policies and prescribing protocols.

Monitor prescription queries and escalate any clinical concerns to the appropriate clinician.

Manage prescriptions for the practice's weekly prescribed patients, ensuring continuity of supply and timely processing.

Coordinate dosette box (monitored dosage system) requests with community pharmacies and ensure prescriptions are issued in line with agreed schedules.

Process weight loss injection letters.

Management of the care home patients medication reviews

Booking show me your meds home visits

Safety reports tasks Liaise with secondary care regarding queries from pharmacists/techs.

Information gathering for pharmacist and techs regarding a patient's condition/medication.

Weight loss injection waiting list booking.

Complex admin queries

Aligning medication

Answering the pharmacy team query line.

Minute keeping for team meetings

Care home proxy access Generate med review tasks for Housebound patients

Issue appliance contractor request

Pharmacy related emails

We are a friendly, forward-thinking surgery with a growing patient list of 15,500 patients, operating from three sites; North Shields, Hadrian Park and Tynemouth.

Job responsibilities

The medication management Administrator plays a key role in supporting the GP Practice's in-house pharmacy team by undertaking advanced administrative duties that contribute to the safe, efficient, and timely management of prescribing processes. The post holder will work closely with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, GPs, community pharmacies, and secondary care providers to ensure effective communication and continuity of patient care.The role is designed to undertake administrative responsibilities that do not require clinical decision-making, enabling clinicians to focus on patient-facing and clinical work.Full training will be given for the successful candidate.

  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths [Or equivalent]

  • AMSPAR Level 2 Medical Administration NVQ 2/3 Customer Service

Experience

Essential

  • * Previous experience working within a GP practice, primary care, or pharmacy environment.
  • * Excellent understanding of repeat prescribing processes.
  • * Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • * Ability to prioritise workload in a busy environment.
  • * High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • * Experience using GP clinical systems (e.g. EMIS Web or SystmOne).
  • * Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Desirable

  • * Experience supporting pharmacists or pharmacy technicians.
  • * Knowledge of NHS prescribing guidance and primary care processes.
  • * Experience liaising with secondary care and community pharmacies.
  • * Understanding of medicines optimisation processes.
  • * Experience managing shared inboxes and workflow systems.
