About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced MEICA Engineer to join a major water infrastructure project on a contract basis. This MEICA Engineer role will lead commissioning and MEICA delivery across the full project lifecycle, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient delivery in line with programme and budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead MEICA Engineer responsible for planning and delivering MEICA & commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate with design teams, site teams, subcontractors and client stakeholders.
  • Ensure MEICA activities meet programme, budget and quality requirements.
  • Identify interfaces, outages, risks and coordination challenges.
  • Review technical specifications for compliance with WIMES and client standards.
  • Lead MEICA and commissioning meetings.
  • Manage commissioning processes in line with framework expectations.
  • Oversee production of commissioning manuals and O&M documentation.
  • Maintain Risk & Opportunity Registers.
  • Resolve design and supply chain interface issues.
  • Support site delivery through meetings, workshops and audits.
  • Promote health, safety and environmental best practice.
  • Provide technical leadership as a senior MEICA Engineer.


Person Specification

  • 10+ years’ experience as a MEICA Engineer in water or wastewater projects.
  • Strong background in MEICA design, delivery and commissioning.
  • Experience as an Electrical or Mechanical Authorised Person.
  • Full lifecycle knowledge (ECI, design, RAMS, ITPs, commissioning, handover).
  • Proven delivery from design through to completion.
  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC or equivalent) or apprenticeship.
  • Valid CSCS/ECS card, SMSTS and First Aid at Work.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, safety rules and legislation.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Blue Water Hygiene Card and Thames Water Passport (or ability to obtain).
