JMB43– Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer Location: Leeds Salary: £44,460 Per Annum Shift Pattern:  2 Days, 2 Nights, 4 Off Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent Overview First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer – Electrical Bias on behalf of our client. This is a hands-on engineering role within a busy manufacturing environment, responsible for maintaining plant, machinery and site equipment through planned and reactive maintenance. The successful candidate will ideally have a electrical engineering background, supported by good mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills. The role operates on a 2 days, 2 nights, 4 days off shift pattern, meaning you will have approximately 182 days off per year – almost half the year. This makes the position particularly attractive for engineers looking for a strong work-life balance. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance. Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults. Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment and automated systems. Maintain 3-phase motors, conveyors, boilers, bearings and associated plant. Respond to breakdowns and minimise production downtime. Complete inspections, maintenance records and documentation. Support production and continuous improvement activities. Follow all Health & Safety procedures and safe systems of work. Requirements Electrical bias with mechanical maintenance skills. Electrical fault-finding and diagnostic ability. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Engineering desirable. PLC and automated systems experience desirable. Manufacturing, FMCG or industrial experience desirable. Armed Forces engineering experience welcomed.
