MULTI SKILLED MAINTENANCE CO-ORDINATOR
Manufacturing | Full time | £21.51 per hour
Monday to Thursday, 6:00am to 4:15pm. Overtime may be required and is paid at one-and-a-half times the normal rate.
Role Overview
A local manufacturing business is looking for an experienced Multi Skilled Maintenance Co-ordinator to manage and coordinate a small team of maintenance fitters while supporting the safe, reliable and efficient operation of site equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in machining and tooling, preferably within a fast-moving manufacturing environment. The role will provide effective maintenance support, minimise production disruption and ensure compliance with relevant statutory and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
*
Manage and coordinate maintenance personnel, including subcontractors.
*
Complete planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules and maintain accurate documentation, including breakdown repair records.
*
Manage inventory stock levels using usage analysis records.
*
Coordinate prompt breakdown repairs during and outside normal working hours, using internal or external support where required.
*
Conduct regular building and machinery inspections to identify and resolve issues.
*
Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records and report concerns to the Production Manager.
*
Competently operate manual machinery, including mills, lathes and grinders.
*
Maintain existing tooling and jigs, including documentation and revision updates.
*
Diagnose faults, carry out repairs and implement effective solutions.
*
Work with the Production Manager to identify and implement factory improvements.
*
Build effective working relationships across support functions to optimise factory performance.
Skills & Experience
*
Time-served with at least two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
*
City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
*
Strong hands-on maintenance and engineering experience.
*
Practical experience in machining and tooling is preferred.
*
Experience working within a fast-moving manufacturing environment is preferred.
*
Strong fault-finding and mechanical maintenance skills.
*
Competent in operating manual machinery, including mills, lathes and grinders.
*
Knowledge of Continuous Improvement (CI) and Six Sigma principles would be advantageous.
*
Ability to maintain accurate maintenance, tooling and inspection documentation
