Our client is seeking an experienced, skilled and versatile Multiskilled Trade Operative to join the Housing Maintenance & Development team with North Northamptonshire Council
The role is crucial to ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of temporary accommodation, helping to prepare and sustain housing units for occupancy
Key Responsibilities
Perform basic maintenance tasks, including: - Carpentry - easing, adjusting and fitting fire doors
Kitchen work - worktops, kitchen units
Plastering, patching, basic brick work.
Respond to repair requests in occupied accommodations.
Conduct maintenance to prepare accommodations for new occupancy.
Travel between locations within North Northamptonshire as required Qualifications:
Ideally hold Asbestos Awareness Certificate or be willing to undertake training
Experience:
- Workers with employment history of Multiskilled Trade Operative/Carpenter - Previous experience of working on voids and repairs. - Previous experience of working in Social Housing beneficial Other trades experience beneficial: Kitchen work - worktops, kitchen units. Patching, plastering and basic brick work skills would be great Location: Kettering and Corby Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM
5PM Contract: Initially 3-month with potential to extend as the work is ongoing, temporary basis. All applicants must hold a full UK driving licence with access to own vehicle. Van availability Must have their own vehicles to be able to commute to and from work, and use during work hours across Corby and Kettering. Mileage to be claimed at the standard rate.
