Job Role: Multiskilled Technician with HGV Location: Rainham, Essex Salary: £40,000 per annum (£35,000 basic salary plus £5,000 London Weighting) Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 17:00 (1-hour lunch break) Overtime: 1.5x hourly rate Monday to Saturday 2x hourly rate Sundays and Bank Holidays    Role Overview: We are recruiting a hardworking and versatile Multiskilled Technician with HGV to join a specialist environmental services team based in Rainham. This is a varied, hands-on role combining HGV driving, tanker operations, remediation works, groundworks and environmental services. As a Multiskilled Technician with HGV, you will work across a diverse range of commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects, supporting environmental clean-ups, tank installations, spill response operations and specialist site works. The successful Multiskilled Technician with HGV will enjoy working outdoors, operating specialist equipment and being part of a team that delivers critical environmental and infrastructure services across the region.    Key Responsibilities: HGV Driving & Vehicle Operations Operate company vehicles, including tanker and HGV Class 2 vehicles Complete daily vehicle inspections, defect reporting and compliance checks Ensure vehicles, plant and equipment are maintained in a safe and operational condition Adhere to drivers’ hours regulations and company transport procedures Support the transportation of equipment, materials and specialist machinery Environmental & Operational Services Carry out high-pressure water jetting and industrial cleaning activities Support spill response and environmental emergency works Undertake remediation and environmental clean-up projects Assist with tank, interceptor and drainage installation, servicing and maintenance Support tank uplift and removal projects Carry out general groundworks and site preparation activities Site Operations & Project Delivery Work as part of multidisciplinary operational teams on customer sites Follow project plans, RAMS and safe systems of work Assist with excavation, reinstatement and construction-related activities Operate specialist equipment and plant where trained and authorised Support emergency response activities and reactive works when required Health, Safety & Compliance Maintain compliance with all health, safety and environmental standards Work in accordance with risk assessments, method statements and company procedures Report hazards, incidents and near misses appropriately Ensure PPE is used and maintained correctly Promote a positive safety culture across all activities Customer Service & Teamwork Communicate professionally with customers and site representatives Complete job documentation accurately and on time Support colleagues and project teams to ensure safe and successful project delivery Travel and stay away from home when operational requirements demand Contribute to a collaborative and solutions-focused team environment    Essential Criteria: HGV Class 2 Licence Experience within a practical, hands-on operational environment Knowledge of RAMS and safe systems of work Experience completing vehicle checks and defect reporting Strong work ethic and willingness to undertake manual duties Flexible approach to overtime, travel and reactive works Excellent communication and teamwork skills Full UK driving licence    Desirable Criteria: ADR qualification Groundworks experience Environmental remediation experience Tanker operations experience Plant operation experience Spill response or industrial cleaning experience Experience within utilities, infrastructure, environmental services or construction sectors    Benefits: £5,000 London Weighting Competitive overtime rates Specialist industry training and development Opportunity to gain additional qualifications and accreditations Career progression opportunities Varied and rewarding workload Supportive and experienced team environment    Additional Information: Based from the Rainham depot with travel to sites as required Overtime and occasional call-out work may be required Working away from home may be necessary depending on project requirements Full PPE, equipment and training provided Opportunity to work across environmental, remediation and infrastructure projects    How to Apply: For more information or to apply for the Multiskilled Technician with HGV role, please contact: Robert Rowe on (phone number removed) or email (url removed)
