We have an exciting opportunity for a Night Nurse to join the team at HMP Long Lartin, a category A Prison located in Littleton. HMP Long Lartin is a male prison serving life sentences with a capacity for 690 inmates.

Hours

The site currently offers 12.5 hour night shifts 19:30-08:00 with occasional day shifts

Salary

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary from £34,428 to £41,659  per annum

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks

Main duties of the job

As a Night Nurse your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency response situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
  • Use your skills and knowledge to deliver nurse led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Provide outstanding evidence based care to our patients, seeking out, listening to and acting on their feedback, so that care is personalised and informed by what matters to them.
  • Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference 
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence based care and continuous quality improvement, embedding a culture of shared learning.
  • Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams.

 Qualifications required:

  • Registered nurse Adult - NMC / Post-qualifications experience required 
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach
  • Excellent communication skills
