Non-Deliberate Violence Reduction Facilitator
Job summary
12 month Fixed term position, full time.
This new and exciting role is central to reducing restrictive interventions and implement the reducing restraint network principles of care. You will provide a BILD accredited certified training that reduces the use of restrictive practice (examples include MAYBO, NAVIGO etc) .
The postholder will play a key role in promoting the health, safety and welfare of the Trusts employees and patients.
You will promote patient comfort and minimise the risk of injury through the promotion of strategies and techniques.

Main duties of the job
You will provide accredited education programme and maintain appropriate records for this.
You will also support clinical staff create dignified, least restrictive care plans for patients who can, through their illness, disability or illness, display dysregulated behaviours that can be challenging for clinical staff to manage safely.

Knowledge
Essential
- Demonstrate experience of delivering skills based training to a variety of differing job roles
- Knowledge acquired through relevant experience to and working knowledge within Health & Safety / violence and aggression
- An understanding of current challenges that NHS organisations face in terms of violence and aggression
- Awareness of Health and Safety requirements, relevant legislation, requirements and Department of Health guidelines
- Demonstrate relevant knowledge of legal issues (eg MCA, MHA, DOLS)
- Translate theoretical knowledge of specific subject into appropriate healthcare context
- Able to demonstrate an understanding of the risk assessment process
- Understanding of the need for confidentiality
- Knowledge of audit, research and development
- Awareness of own limitations
Experience
Essential
- Experience of working with people in sensitive and emotional situations
- Experience of working independently and in a team orientated collaborative environment
- Significant general NHS/public sector experience
Desirable
- Experience of working in a healthcare setting with multidisciplinary teams across organisational boundaries

- Ability to manipulate and interpret data
- The ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) with a wide range of stakeholders

- Ability to recognise what a patient safety issue/risk is and the implications,

Qualifications
Essential
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent including English and Maths at Grade C/level 4 or equivalent
- Educated to Degree level in relevant practice (eg Health Care profession, Education, Police)
- Skills based training/qualification or relevant experience
- Completion of BILD certified train the trainer programme (eg MAYB), Navigo) or willing to do so.
