The Opportunity Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Ocean & Air Imports Operator to join their South Manchester branch. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in international freight forwarding who enjoys managing shipments from start to finish while delivering exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities * Manage both ocean and air import shipments from origin through to final delivery. * Liaise daily with overseas offices, shipping lines, airlines, hauliers, customs brokers, and customers. * Arrange customs clearance and ensure compliance with HMRC and all import regulations. * Monitor shipments proactively, resolving any operational issues efficiently. * Prepare and process import documentation accurately. * Coordinate deliveries and communicate shipment updates to customers. * Complete job costing, invoicing, and maintain accurate operational records. * Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and overseas partners. * Deliver excellent customer service while ensuring operational efficiency. The Right Candidate * Previous experience within Ocean and/or Air Imports in a freight forwarding environment. * Strong understanding of import documentation and customs procedures. * Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously. * Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. * High attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. * Experience using freight forwarding software and Microsoft Office. * A positive attitude and a desire to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
