Location: Heathrow Area
Salary: £32,000 - £40,000 (DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday | 09:00 - 17:30 The Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced Start-to-Finish Ocean Freight Operator to join a busy and well-established freight forwarding business. This role will involve managing both Ocean Imports and Exports from booking through to final delivery and invoicing. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling shipments end-to-end, liaising with customers, overseas agents, shipping lines, hauliers, and customs authorities to ensure smooth and efficient movement of cargo. Key Responsibilities
Manage Ocean Import and Export shipments from start to finish
Arrange bookings with shipping lines and overseas agents
Prepare and process shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, manifests, and arrival notices
Coordinate customs clearance procedures and liaise with customs brokers where required
Arrange collections, deliveries, and haulage movements
Monitor shipment progress and provide proactive updates to customers
Resolve operational issues, delays, and customer queries efficiently
Ensure all files are completed accurately and compliantly
Raise job files and process operational invoicing
Maintain strong relationships with customers, carriers, and overseas partners Requirements
Previous experience in Ocean Freight Imports and Exports within a freight forwarding environment
Proven ability to manage shipments start to finish
Good understanding of ocean freight procedures and documentation
Knowledge of customs processes and CDS entries is essential
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
Experience using freight forwarding systems such as CargoWise, Sequoia, Descartes, or similar is desirable Whats on Offer
