The candidate should have:

Previous experience working with children. Safeguarding and Child Protection knowledge. Be w illing to undertake job related training to include but not limited to Food Handling and Allergy training.

The candidate will have the skills, knowledge and experience to:

  • Ensure the safety of pupils during the Breakfast Club; taking into account pupil ages, additional needs and behaviour.
  • Arrange age-appropriate activities for pupils.
  • Be supportive, nurturing and understanding.
  • Have excellent positive behaviour management skills.
  • Ensure application of the school behaviour policy during this period, referring serious issues to the Head of School where applicable.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
  • Be able to lead and inspire a team.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Able to work with children, parents and staff in a patient and understanding manner
  • Able to communicate effectively.
  • Flexible and positive towards change.
  • Friendly with a sense of humour and positive attitude.
  • Motivational and willing to work as part of a team.
  • Caring and willing to listen

  • Able to perform all duties and responsibilities in work location with reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
  • Able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion at all times.
