Operations Support & Compliance Officer Location: Near Royston, Hertfordshire Salary: £28,000 to £30,000 per annum, depending on experience Hours: 25 to 30 hours per week, with full-time applications also considered Contract: Permanent Working pattern: Hybrid, with Mondays and Fridays working from home Holiday: 28 days' annual leave plus a Christmas shutdown, in addition to your holiday allowance Driving requirement: Due to the office location, you will need your own transport The Opportunity We are recruiting for an experienced and highly organised Operations Support & Compliance Officer to join a well-established professional services organisation based near Royston. This is a varied and responsible position that combines compliance, operational support, associate onboarding, information security administration, Health & Safety coordination and general office support. You will work closely with internal teams, external associates and other stakeholders, helping to ensure that regulatory, operational and information security requirements are consistently maintained. ​ The organisation is open to candidates looking for 25 to 30 hours per week, as well as those seeking a full-time opportunity, making this an excellent option for someone looking for a role with flexibility. ​ ​ Key Responsibilities Compliance and HR Administration Supporting with HR compliance requirements for employees and external associates Maintaining accurate records and tracking mandatory documentation Handling sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion Responding to day-to-day compliance queries Ensuring actions, records and documentation are completed accurately and within agreed timescales ​[​ Associate Recruitment and Onboarding Supporting recruitment administration, including coordinating interviews, managing initial applications and assessments, and preparing recruitment information Coordinating onboarding processes, including documentation, inductions, contracts, BPSS checks and security clearance administration Carrying out periodic compliance reviews and collating quality, skills and feedback information Supporting quality assurance and supervision processes Helping to coordinate associate communications, networking activities, newsletters and online resources Supporting the analysis of capacity, skills availability, utilisation and future recruitment requirements Coordinating offboarding processes, including account closures and data clean-up in line with retention requirements ​​ Information Security Acting as a first point of contact for information security queries from internal colleagues and external associates Monitoring information security inboxes and ensuring enquiries or actions are directed appropriately Supporting the administration and maintenance of the Information Security Management System Tracking security-related actions and ensuring they are updated accurately Following up with stakeholders to obtain information and progress outstanding tasks Promoting the importance of effective information security and compliance throughout the organisation Supporting internal ISO audits, compliance reviews and action tracking Providing administrative cover for designated information security activities when required ​​ Health & Safety and Office Support Maintaining Health & Safety records Coordinating workplace inspections Tracking mandatory training Supporting risk assessment reviews Assisting with accident and incident reporting Monitoring and ordering office supplies Providing general administrative support across the organisation Coordinating meetings, maintaining governance records and assisting with organisational projects ​​ About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have: Previous experience within an administration, operations, compliance or coordination role Excellent attention to detail and a highly organised approach The ability to manage several priorities and meet deadlines A high level of integrity, discretion and professionalism Experience of handling confidential or sensitive information Strong Microsoft 365 skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Confidence communicating with colleagues, external associates and other stakeholders The ability to work independently while contributing to a wider team Previous experience in any of the following would be advantageous, although not essential: Working within an ISO 27001 environment Information security or compliance administration BPSS checks or security clearance administration Health & Safety support Risk identification and mitigation Working with associates, contractors or freelancers ​​ What's on Offer?
