Job Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day manufacturing operations to ensure production targets are met safely and efficiently.
- Carry out routine checks, inspections, and maintenance activities to keep equipment operating to specification.
- Diagnose faults and carry out first-line troubleshooting on production plant and associated systems.
- Assist with planned maintenance schedules and help coordinate downtime to minimise disruption.
- Monitor process performance and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and throughput.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, inspections, and any corrective actions taken.
- Follow health and safety procedures and ensure safe working practices are adhered to at all times.
- Work closely with the wider team to support smooth handovers between shifts and departments.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in an operations, production, or technician role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills, with the ability to identify root causes.
- Working knowledge of basic industrial maintenance practices, including preventative maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical information such as equipment documentation, work instructions, and maintenance logs.
- Competence in using standard workshop tools and common test equipment for troubleshooting.
- Good understanding of health and safety requirements in a manufacturing setting, including safe isolation practices.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a small team.
