Job summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 physiotherapist to join our supportive and dynamic community therapy team on a fixed-term/secondment basis to cover maternity leave.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established band 5 paediatric therapist to develop their clinical skills within a well-established service, working with children and young people aged 0-19 across a variety of settings eg special school , clinic and home settings.

This is part time 32.5 hours per week role until 29th October 2027.

Main duties of the job

  • Assess, diagnose, and manage a varied caseload of patients with physical needs
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions in line with best practice
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, carers, and external agencies
  • Maintain accurate clinical records and reports
  • Participate in service development and team meetings

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Diploma or 1st Level degree in Physiotherapy (or equivalent)
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Clinical educators course within the first year
  • Must hold a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle or viable alternative

Desirable

  • Consultation skills
  • Coaching skills
  • Additional leadership qualification
  • Specialist Physiotherapy courses
Experience

Essential

  • Documented evidence of continuing professional development.
  • Post registration experience in a relevant clinical setting.

Desirable

  • Evidence of previous community paediatric physiotherapy experience
Knowledge

Essential

  • Able to demonstrate the ability to work at relevant level
  • Knowledge of additional specialist areas through in-house training & short courses
  • In-depth knowledge of working within the NHS
  • Able to support workplace learning for staff and students, and specifically act as a field work educator, and preceptor

Desirable

  • Able to demonstrate the ability to work within a community health team
  • Able to demonstrate the management of complex casework
