Are you a passionate, motivated Physiotherapist looking to progress your paediatric career? We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and adaptableBand 7 Physiotherapist to join our friendly and supportive Community Paediatric Physiotherapy Team.
This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people across Derby City and Southern Derbyshire. The successful candidate will have experience managing a paediatric neurodevelopmental caseload and be confident working autonomously, whilst providing leadership and support within a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
You will work across a variety of community settings, including clinics, family homes, mainstream schools and specialist educational environments, delivering high-quality, child-centred physiotherapy assessment, intervention and advice.

Main duties of the job
To manage a diverse caseload of children and young people (CYP) presenting with emerging developmental difficulties and complex physical needs across community settings, including clinics, homes and educational environments. To provide highly specialised physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis, intervention, review and evaluation, ensuring care is evidence-based, outcome focused and delivered in accordance with agreed service pathways, professional standards and organisational policies.
To work in partnership with families and multidisciplinary colleagues to develop, implement and review individualised, developmentally appropriate intervention programmes that are integrated within wider care plans.
To take a leadership role within multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams, offering specialist consultation and advice to health, education and social care professionals. To coordinate Community Physiotherapy services within a designated locality, supporting the effective management of referrals, prioritisation, caseload allocation and discharge processes to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
To deputise for the Clinical Team Lead as required, providing clinical and operational leadership, supervision, appraisal, mentoring and support to junior physiotherapists, therapy assistants, students and colleagues. To contribute to workforce development through teaching, training and sharing specialist knowledge.

Attainment/Qualifications
Essential
- oPhysiotherapy degree or equivalent diploma
- oRegistered with Health Professions Council
- oRelevant Band 6 experience within Paediatric Physiotherapy
- oEvidence of relevant postgraduate courses (CPD portfolio) to evidence knowledge of neuromuscular, congenital and orthopaedic conditions
- oLeadership training
Desirable
- oExperience of working in a community setting
- oExperienced student clinical educator
- oAPCP member

- oGood organisation skills and timekeeping and the ability to prioritise, delegate and supervise others

- oRelevant specialist Paediatric Physiotherapy training e.g. Bobath / Oxford Seating / Biomechanics of Gait
- oAbility to work independently using own initiative
- oKnowledge of a variety of adjuncts to therapy e.g. orthotics, mobility aids, specialist equipment for postural management
- oKnowledge of legislation relating to professional practice and CYP / safeguarding / disability.
- oSound understanding of, and ability to contribute to, clinical governance and risk
- oAbility to assess and treat CYP with physical disabilities
- oAbility to plan and evaluate treatment programmes
- oKnowledge of a variety of paediatric conditions relating to physical disability in CYP, including cerebral palsy, Muscular dystrophies and other neuro-developmental conditions who may also present with multiple and complex needs
